OK, so a number of affiliates have asked me about opt-in rates in their accounts seeming low. I want to address this as those numbers are NOT accurate. People who have promoted us in the past are especially likely to see lower opt-in rates. Keep in mind that the average opt-in rate in google website optimizer has been at around 45%.

So here’s why the 1shoppingcart opt-in rates are NOT accurate:

1 – 1Shoppingcart.com ONLY counts it as a lead if the person is NEW to our system. We have over 500,000 emails in our shoppingcart, so anybody that you send over that is already in our database, regardless of whether or not they’re active with us right now or not, will NOT show up as a lead.  1shoppingcart.com only says it’s a lead if it is somebody NEW to our system.

This lowers opt-in rates for everyone.  It’s especially noticeable for those in the EFT Tapping community.  You would expect Tapping lists to convert really high on the opt-in rate but they’re actually the lowest in terms of what you see in the shopping cart because so many of those people are already in our system.

So again, IGNORE what the perceived opt-in rate is in your affiliate area.  The clicks (which are raw clicks) to leads (which are only new leads to our system) rate is not accurate of how the actual opt-in page is converting for you.  🙂

2 – Also, we have a cookie system that makes it so that people only have to opt-in ONE time ever during the launch so that they don’t see opt-in pages over and over again.  Also, if they click on any of our links during the launch, they never have to opt-in again.  We do this because we don’t want your traffic to have to see an opt-in page if they’re already on our list or have alreayd opt-ed in once during the launch.  If they already have the special cookie set on their computer it will shoot them past the opt-in page and send them right to the video.  Already in the first 24 hours we’ve had 14,000 people hit the opt-in page and get shot right through.
